On August 22, 2025, the Illinois Appellate Court affirmed fully the trial court’s judgment in favor of Rathje Woodward’s client. The case centered on a multi-year economic incentive agreement between an automobile dealership and a suburban Chicago community. Rathje Woodward argued, and the courts agreed, that the municipality did not meet its financial obligations under the agreement, and awarded the dealership 100% of the damages it sought. Rathje Woodward attorneys Tim Elliott and Jim Scales, supported by Lindsey Bullis and Nicole Winters, represented the dealership throughout the bench trial and appeal. The opinion can be read here.
