Christopher M. Miller is an experienced commercial litigator, who has represented individual and corporate clients in complex commercial disputes across the country before courts and administrative agencies. In these matters, he has successfully represented his clients by obtaining favorable trial verdicts and securing decisions dismissing the case at either the pleading or summary judgment stage. Over the years, he has gained significant expertise representing clients in the construction industry in the variety of legal claims facing them, including contract negotiations, contract disputes, mechanic’s liens, personal injury, and employment disputes. Prior to entering private practice, Chris served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Cook County, Illinois where he also gained extensive appellate and litigation experience. Chris attained his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2015, graduating with honors.
- Edever Properties v. Quintero et al.: Chris served as lead trial counsel in a breach of contract case in Cook County, Illinois. Chris successfully secured a judgment in favor of his client.
- Chris served on the litigation team representing a defendant in Oakland County, Michigan, against claims of unjust enrichment, conversion, aiding and abetting conversion, and restitution arising out of a failed real estate transaction. As part of the litigation team, Chris authored a successful motion for summary disposition arguing lack of personal jurisdiction, securing a complete dismissal of the lawsuit for his client. The lower court’s ruling was subsequently affirmed on appeal.
- W. v. H.W. et al.: Chris served as second chair in a multi-day trial before the Illinois Human Rights Commission, defending his clients against a variety of claims, including retaliation and sexual harassment. Chris and the trial team secured a complete defense verdict in favor of his clients.
