After a three-day bench trial in February 2025, Rathje Woodward secured a complete defense judgment in favor of its client, Kathleen Zellner. In that case, Suisse Bancorp, Inc. v. Zellner, et al., Suisse Bancorp sought more than $20 million allegedly due on loans extended to Zellner in 2007 and 2009. Zellner contended that she had repaid the loans in full and that Suisse Bancorp’s claims were based on illegally-calculated compound interest. The trial court sided with Zellner and entered judgment in her favor. Zellner was represented by Rathje attorneys Tim Elliott, Emily Shupe and Gilberto Gonzalez.
