Rathje Woodward LLC proudly recognizes Kimberly Gutierrez for completing her summer Clerkship with the firm. Kimberly spent the summer assisting Rathje Woodward LLC lawyers in a broad variety of commercial disputes, including cases involving trademark infringement, real estate, employment, Section 1983 constitutional claims, and insurance coverage.
Kimberly, a Chicago native, will be starting her second year at the University of Wisconsin Law School this fall. At the law school she serves as the Vice President of Academic Affairs for the Latinx Law Student Association, is a member of Mock Trial, and is an associate to the Wisconsin Law Review. During her free time, she enjoys cooking and visiting coffee shops.
Kimberly joined the firm’s Madison office this summer through the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Diversity Clerkship Program, a summer law clerk opportunity where first-year Marquette and UW Law School students with diverse backgrounds are matched with a wide array of legal employers in Wisconsin. David P. Hollander, who spearheads the firm’s participation in the Diversity Clerkship Program, had the following to say:
“Kimberly was a valuable asset on the cases she was assigned to. She assisted in preparing for several depositions, responding to discovery, and drafting dispositive motions. Kimberly understood the nuances of our litigation matters to a degree you would not expect from a law student—much less a first-year law student. We wish her the best and are excited to see what comes next in her career.”
