On March 7, 2019, The Department of Labor released its Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that focuses on updating the minimum salary requirement for the FLSA white collar exemptions. The proposed rule changes only the salary level test and proposes to raise the required level from $455 per week ($23,660 annually) to $679 per week ($35,308 annually). The proposed rule is anticipated to become effective in January 2020. The DOL is accepting written comments prior to issuing its final rule.
